I spent a fair amount of time in THAT valley in the 80s. One of my roommates spent all of her high school years living there (in Woodland Hills). We'd crash at her parents house when necessary. There was a chain of 3 restaurants along Ventura Blvd called Studio Cafe. The original one in Studio City (I think) is still there. One of the other ones was in Sherman Oaks. It had a long bank of sealed windows that looked out on the sidewalk. Once, I was at one of the window tables with these same friends and someone bounced a soccer ball off the window, close to our faces. Naturally, we turned and looked out the window. Standing there (outside), holding the soccer ball, smiling and waving, was Rod Stewart. I've driven around the area a bit twice in the last 10 years (while there for other reasons) trying to uncover that location and couldn't (not important, but you know...sometimes something feels as though is on the tip of your tongue and sticks in your craw when you can't remember the detail you want to remember...and can't find the answer on the internet). Perhaps AbsolutelyRed12 remembers this restaurant.

I completely hear ya! Was pretty tuned in to the 80s scene back then, especially the music - things have really changed!
