Throwout Bearing not under powertrain????
Does anyone know if the throwout bearing should fall under the 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain Toyota warranty? My car is at the dealer and they isolated the noise (chirping) to either the pressure plate part of the clutch or the throwout bearing. I have 33,000 miles on my 2010 Yaris. Either way they said it's not covered under the factory warranty and will cost me $1018.00 if Toyota parts are used or $854.00 if they buy the parts locally. I'm not sure if I'm being "had" or not. My car has always been driven gently and I don't ride the clutch or anything. I know how to drive a manual, I've been driving them for YEARS. Heck, I don't even hold the clutch in at stoplights.
So much for Japanese quality. Toyota quality for that matter. |
