AWD and fuel economy
As I understand it (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong)- a person can disable the AWD function for whatever reason, using a button on the console.
My reason is fuel economy- whether it is a sensible proposition or not, I would like to test this theory when it isn't particularly icy or muddy. The problem is, the few times I've tried it, within seconds, it automatically goes back to AWD. Is this normal, or is something wrong? Is there another way to disable it? Is it even possible, or is it by nature permanently on? Or on the other hand, does the car automatically give me 2WD when it isn't icy out there? Can someone please explain how it works? |
