Yaris seat lowering question (or two)
First off, hi guys.
I have a 2012 Yaris hatchback, 5 speed, the absolute base car that has recently been demoted from family DD duties. Without going thru everything that I have done and want to do, I would like to concentrate in this post here on lighter front seats and lowering the driving position. What are some aftermarket seats that are also comfortable as well as light? I know there are lightweight racing seats out there, these will need to be comfortable, reasonably comfortable for, say 200 mile trips. They also need to be able to be easy to get in and out of, so no racing seats. And they need to be lower than the stock seats, which most of them seem to be. But, when the mounting brackets are factored in, it then seems that they end up the same height as stock or higher even. Has anyone out there put lighter seats in and also lowered the driving position? Can this be done with any of the available seat mounting brackets that are out there or should I plan on either fabbing something up from scratch or modifying stock brackets? Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I am on a steep learning curve with these very underappreciated cars. In advance, thanks everybody! |
