Hi everyone,
I’m currently adding fog lights to my 2016 Canadian Yaris Hatchback (LHD). The car is pre-wired (I’ve found the plugs behind the bumper and the FOG FR fuse is present in the interior panel). I want to use the factory wiring to keep the installation clean, but I have a specific request: I do not want to replace the steering column stalk (arm). I prefer to relocate the fog light switch to one of the empty slots in the dash, next to the mirror controls. My situation: I’ve identified two small connectors near the steering column (one with green wires, one with black wires), but they are too short to reach the dash. I know I need to install the relay in the "hidden" location behind the Junction Block/Body ECU. My questions for the experts: Which specific wire on the steering column harness should I tap into to trigger the factory relay? If I bridge this wire to a ground through a dash switch, will the factory circuit work (provided the low beams are on)? Does anyone have the pinout or wire colors for the headlight stalk connector on a 2016 Canadian model to make sure I trigger the right signal? I’m trying to avoid pulling the steering wheel and changing the stalk while still utilizing the pre-installed harness for the lights themselves. Any help or wiring diagrams would be greatly appreciated! |
