I'm taking out those plastic liners after the megans go in

It seems like that would only add a few mm's of clearance. Do you think that would be enough to make a difference? How do you go about removing them? Is there an easy way or is it just however you can manage? Any DIY's available on this?

no lining = filthy as a pig engine bay, might even get soem critters living in there
