That works, but the better solution would be to bring your own cup, one of the types that's designed for use in automobiles. Not only does this not spill, but it insulates the coffee even better, has a more appropriately-sized drinking hole, and it is infinitely reusable, consuming no additional non-renewable sources (i.e. styrofoam cups and plastic lids) every day.
