That's not true. How long a tire lasts is determined by how hard the compound is. A cheap tire made of a hard compound will last much longer than an expensive tire made of soft compound. Price has nothing to do with it.

BTW mine are Konig Minuz, 11.8 lbs. I kinda recall that the ones you mention were a bit lighter.
