I know, I was thinking the same thing. But I wouldn't want it to have burned completely, need to salvage some of those aftermarket parts, but enough to have it totaled. No one I know has ever heard of someone getting fireworks set off in a car, so it came as a complete surprise. I'm paranoid now, even with my GFs pos taurus wagon that I'm forced to drive right now. Even in view I roll the windows up and lock it even if I'm going inside for a minute. Out of all my cars, only a couple had never been vandalized, but my yaris got it the worst. Oh, I got a update finally from the adjuster. He got the price down by getting the dealership to only charge $46/hr labor vs. $70 and he said the detail really helped, but obviously there will be things replaced. The cost came to about $4,900 now, and they want to fix it (still thinking about that '08 though). the passenger seats are getting replaced as well as the carpet, headliner, plastic trim that melted in the fire, driver's speaker and some other crap. He said I can pickup my car now if I wanted and the dealership will call when all the parts are in, and I won't have to pay the $500 deductible until all work is completed, so I'm going to try and get it back today as the MPG of the taurus wagon sucks horribly compared to my yaris. Thankfully my work (the PT job at Papa John's) will be reimbursing me for the deductible. I will try to get some pictures up of the damage after the cleaning. Still bummed horribly. Hopefully the new NST pulley set that will be coming out soon will lift my spirits.
