Sure....rub salt in our wounds!
Toyota trying to protect the Scions. I'm going to settle for a Scion xD since the prospect of getting any options on a Yaris S are slim to none (can't even configure ABS). Kicking myself for not buying the dealer used 5-door RS over the border last October when exchange was still in our favor.

You should at least try to special order one. I'm pretty much in the same boat. I really wanted the S but I don't think I would buy a new car in 2008 without side airbags and ABS.

I just don't understand Toyota. They expect a demand of people to pay $1200 more for a lip kit and tachometer but not expect those same people to want any common safety features...

I was actually told by the internet manager that there's no such thing as a factory order anymore, just a preference order. So you basically just have to take what they're building.
