Aftermarket decks are usually around 18w RMS and 50w peak. You can run those speakers off them, but they'll be underpowered.
Underpowering speakers is bad because you'll be tempted to turn the volume up loud. When the deck doesn't have enough power, the built-in amplifier will distort and "clip", which could damage the speakers. Bottom line: You can power speakers off a deck as a interim thing, just don't expect lots of volume. If you hear any distortion, turn the volume down. |
