In the movies, John Wayne was a hero. In real life, he was an alcoholic, a womanizer, and an abusive father. Who really cares what John Wayne said or thought? He really was profoundly uninteresting.

I was indicating that that was my sentiment. Not that the speaker was some great person. I simply believe in citing sources.
