SIPNGAS and RYANK the clutch uses brake fluid ...
which is shared with the brake fluid ( same resorvoir ) . I believe it's DOT 3 . Changing to a synthetic brake fluid ( DOT 4 , Valvoline syn. B.F. , etc. ) could help that situation much like synthetic gear oil for better cold shifting . TAKE CARE

I called Jiffy Lube, the one I go to for my oil changes and they don't stock the synthetic gear oil the Yaris needs. (at least that's what the guy said..) So, later, I'm going to call the dealership and ask about switching to the synthetic brake and gear oils...Toyota won't void my warranty by switching? Not sure why they would, but just thought I would ask!

![]() I only noticed it today, and it was about -27 degrees, so hopefully that won't linger around much longer. |
