I've always used Castrol, no particular reason other then always being able to get good prices on it. But after this threat, I'm considering changing it to Mobil 1

Couldn't have said it any better. I've driven most of my vehicles to the 150000 mile mark and all ran as good as the day I bought them. My point was why increase the cost of operation with this vehicle when if you follow Toyota's guidelines she in all probability will go 200,000 with little or no work other than routine maintenence. Do what works for you and gets your girl to the 200,000 plus mark without added expense.

Val. full synth 5-20.
I have been using this for years, I can not atest to any of the other ones since I dont use them. But going from regular to full synth is a big difference.

just put in some pennzoil platinum 5w-30. hope to see a big difference from the dino oil!

I didn't see any noticable improvement in fuel economy when I switched to synthetic. But I do my own service, plus Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 at 3.99 (O'Reilly's) a quart it's too good of a deal to pass on.

It is dino oil, but its been severe hydroprocessed. But it's suppose to be one of the best grpIII oils out there as is Valvoline Synpower. Let us know how it runs!

For those of you who know any advance auto part store, they are having this special thru April 22nd. 5 Quarts of CASTROL Full Synthetic Motor Oil AND a K&N Performance Oil Filter for $24.99 plus applicable taxes. Isnt the K&N filter just a STP with a nut welded on the bottom? A company "Champion Labs" make the Bosch and Mobil-1 and K&N and Delco and most the no-name brands like Supertech for wallmart. That is a good deal you talk about, but I wouldnt pay over 10-$ for a 4$ filter with K&N's name on it. Just remeber Castrol Syntec is not real synthetic oil, It called group III severe hydroprocessed. If you want the real stuff you need Motul 300v, or Total Quartz Future 9000.

It's all good bro! For the price, I still think is a good deal, specially, nowadays, that EVERYBODY or at least most people are doing everything to save a buck or two!

Q-Horsepower. Not on the list, but qualifies for the highest spec in the EU. Can't remember the alphabet soup/number that was used, but its different from API and SAE ratings.

I've been using Mobil1 since it was first introduced in the 70s. Scamsoil not making the list is amusing. I'd steer clear of any company promoting 4 ball wear test results for *engine oil*!
