over the weekend we swapped a sedan cluster out for one with lesser mileage.(42k to 13k). swap was simple plug n play and new cluster worked like it was brand new. NO need to re-program or worry about old mileage staying with new cluster.

Wait a minute... I am so confused.
1. Rockland - I thought everyone said that sedan clusters don't fit liftbacks. 2. Gideon - you swapped out the clusters and you're saying that not only are they completely plug and play - but your mileage remained intact??

Another member has successfully swapped clusters. drifto actually has a Vitz cluster I think that he swapped into his with no troubles. He's got a pic in his garage. |

How much did you end up paying for the cluster, if I may ask.

I stand corrected on the Tach input - The service manual says that the combo meter gets it directly from the ECM over CAN. In that case, it really should be plug and play...

well i ordered what they called the "sport cluster" which had a tach listed as a feature, so i know it will be right. it will be here next week. they said it does NOT need programming and it should swap right out.
