Just a quick question: I just drove 25 miles today after a great effort yesterday, and the first bar de-illuminated already. Was that a result of filling up too soon? I can't figure out why else that would happen?

The fuel bars are about as accurate as a magic 8 ball.

Something similar happened to me after I filled up after the first bar went off. Now sure why it does this.

It is impossible to fill the tank to EXACTLY the same level each time, and that is one of the reasons why gas mileage cannot be accurately determined on just one tank of gas. You need to average several consecutive tanks to get a true picture. Tomster |
