yes, the accents are different. I remember when I first moved to Kansas I was asked CONSTANTLY if I was from Minnesota and would get down right offended. LOL By the time we moved back here after living in the south for 10+ years, all I heard was "what a lovely Southern accent!" from the people here...When in reality I probably had more of a hybrid of the two.
