"Yaris lacked a number of key features -- specifically stability control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and an auto-up driver's window."

those worthless features they want are the reason why i bought my car--too much useless crap i dont care to use. I wanted a driver's car and i got one. I read that and i closed the page, but i still agree 18k for a yaris is retarded. They would most likely scored the yaris higher if they got a 3dr S for its 5 speed manual and lower price! Wait, they might complain about having to actually shift!

I bought mine with only the convenience package and I love my manual locks and windows. I also love the fact that it is so basic that I don't worry about something breaking down the line needing an expensive fix. I wanted an inexpensive, reliable, simple car and I got one.

As someone else mentioned, if you're going to spend over 16k there are better cars for you.

I've never driven a fit, but I'm sure it's a fine car. I think the new model design looks much better than the old one too.

Stability control I can see for some people. But who the hell says "I ain't buyin' it" because it doesn't have steering wheel-mounted audio controls and an auto-up driver's window? I would hope nobody ...

Never having owned a car with stability control, I don't probably know what I'm missing. Then again, having driven a few that have, I can't say it's an essential safety feature. Most situations where it is needed can be corrected with the right driving technique. But then again, people prolly said the same thing about ABS 15 years ago...

In everyday use, I'm much happier that my Yaris has audio controls on the wheel and auto-up driver's window. Not that I'd really require them on a new car- just make things a lot easier. Comfort FTW.

I'm actually turned off by all of that junk on a steering wheel. A car's for driving, not playing nintendo on you radio.

I'm mostly annoyed that they called the central instrument layout wonky. Driver side instrument layouts were great when the diameter of steering wheels matched that of a semi tire. The fact that I can see the speedometer without ducking, bobbing and weaving is one of the coolest features of the car.

Finally, who in the heck spends 18 on a Yaris? I actually considered the Fit early on, but then quickly passed based on price an fuel economy. I just don't get it, why compare the value of these cars based on a "Sport" package that they admitted adds nothing anyway? It just doesn't make any sense, I mean if you're going there, you should just throw out the Yaris and Cube and set the Fit up for a big fail against the Mini.

Yeah, reviewers always take a shot at the Yaris' central instrument panel. Gets old. I think that's a nice feature.
