I moved to SoCal five years ago and was shocked. Some people take two spaces to park. They leave their shopping carts blocking the next car from backing out.
They throw their trash right out of their window. Parking lots are filthy. Some streets and yards are littered with trash. Some people have a real F*** Y** attitude.

Come to El Monte. People here are incredibly lazy. I guarantee you'll find lots of:

-Garbage all over the streets
-Unkept yards
-An abandoned shopping cart every few blocks
-People crossing the streets without looking both ways in traffic
-High school drop-outs
-Young jobless bums living off mom and dad

The list goes on and on...

Hey, that sounds a lot like Vallejo, only you didn't mention city bankruptcy. So glad I don't live there anymore, but it does suck that my mom lives right after the city limits, and that we still shop and go into Vallejo.

We're not quite hitting bankruptcy yet, but with so many lazy locals mooching off our tax dollars there's always that possiblility. Hopefully not anytime soon though...

Yup, I see that "leaving the cart behind another person's car" all the time too. It's happened to me a couple time, with once the cart was actually touching my rear bumper

there's a reason why i don't park within 10 spot of a shopping car return place. Sometimes, i would rather walk across the entire parking lot than park close to shopping carts.

Sometimes, i wish i'd be driving some old shitty car, so that i can bump those carts around when they are in the way.

Depending upon the speed what can happen is that the cart runs off in a hurry in unpredictable directions, sometimes into light poles, other carts or innocent cars. At the very least it dings your car's paint. Shopping carts are pretty damn tough items.
