I have a sedan, and to get under the ebrake -
1)Unscrew the bolts in the rear cup holder, you should be able to pop all of the trim off around below the cup holder. 2)open the center console, remove the rubber mat at the bottom, and take out the two bolts. 3)pop the bottom of the trim off under the a/c controls, and remove the 2 bolts under there. You should then be able to pull the entire center console out. The power outlet by the ebrake might still be holding it in, but you should be able to move it around enough to get your ring. Also, when I did this, the purpose was to tighten the lid on the center console, which was popping up when I elbowed it. Tightening the four screws behind the cup holder fixed that problem.
