My xB had LESS wind noise than my hatch! What's with that? Also, the interior of the xB is quieter--less road noise.
The road noise issue I don't understand because Yarii cost more than comparable xA/B's. It's like getting less for more money. The Scion family can't be beat for value by anything. Since I traded for looks I'm still happy. Sitting in a hatch is like being in a space capsule. It's kind of neat compared to the Range Rover view of the xB. BTW, the new BB looks like a Japanese PT Cruiser. Ugh. Glad we're not getting it. |

There is no need for that 5th seat belt, there is no way 5 people will fit. A better driver seat and steering wheel would help also.

Mine has no undercoat on the actual metal area of the wheelwell. Will try to do that at some point.
Dont really have any other beefs except the touchy clutch. |

Toyota will be listening to suggestions, and they will implement some, and make you want to but the new model just to get the improvements. Marketing gimmik all the way.
I love my Yaris but I wish I had a 5-door with Side Airbags, and 4 wheel disc brakes! A more adjustable driver seat would be nice as well. Stability control, and traction control too! Proximity 'START" button would be nice.

Odd gripe...
Anyone else notice the sun visors are THICK?
I mean, forget sunglass clips, garage door openers, bluetooth speakerphones, whatever... It's minor Also, the lack of a 600HP V8 is KILLING me. I mean, come on, I spent $12650.00... I expect certain luxuries Tim |

I am still having trouble getting comfy when driving on the highway because of the lack of wheel telescoping and the gas pedal is so easily depressed. Anyway to adjust the gas pedal to require more force or any other ideas for a mod? I find my shin is sore when commuting on the highway!

I have an 07 sedan...agreed that it would be nice to have a more adjustable driver's seat & steering wheel for long drives (which is pretty much all I do in this car).
Having to shell out $80 to get a "standard" radio bezel to replace the integrated radio dreck was kind of annoying. I guess I should be glad I at least was able to do that instead of having to wait for a third-party company to come up with a solution. Car companies should stick to designing cars rather than spending R&D on making their radios slick & hard to remove. The rearview mirror is way too low on the windshield, and it's always blocking my view of merging traffic & pedestrians in crosswalks. As soon as I can figure out how to reposition it, I'm moving it higher up on the windshield. Other than that, what's not to like about a Toyota for $15K that consistently performs at or very near it's sticker-stated 39 MPG highway?

I'm in my Yaris 12 hrs a day and just went through a week of non stop rain. Having to use the AC to defrost all the time is a huge pain in the ass!
Granted, for serious situation, having the AC to defrost is a huge bonus, but for the other 50% of the time, simple having the vent on defrost without the use of the AC would have been fine. There's two reason why it's a pain in the ass. firstly, It saps power and leads to higher fuel consumption. The other annoyance, is after many warm start-up, the AC start to give off a nasty odor and opening the windows in the rain to clear up the smell is a problem. The odor does go away after the AC has been running for a awhile (until your next warm startup), but venting the interior in the pouring rain sucks. That being said, I've managed to come up was a compromise that seems primitive (especially after paying good money for the power package). Anyways, it involves rotating the two side vents upward to face the windshield(the same air vents that are always On and can be used to cool or heat the drinks in the cupholders, in the liftback models). It seems to work well. The only thing is, they'll probably need to be rotated back to the side to clear up the side windows...primitive, put it seems to work. |
