I think the site is down from all the traffic. I checked it on "isitup" and that verified it. You can still enter your pup. The contest goes on for a few more weeks and each week has a winner and those winners continue to the finals.

I can definitley see the Chow and Elkhound in him. A good friend of mine has a 3/4 Finnish Spitz with 1/4 Chow mix. He looks pure Spitz until he opens his mouth. The big bluish-purple tongue is a dead give-away for Chow lol. The Spitz is basically an orange Elkhound. Yours is like a smaller and darker (and possibly less oblivious) version of his.

Amazed to see how cute Rusty looks after all that. I've seen way too many mutts with 3 or more breeds look like failed science experiments

I'll vote again later when I hear the magic word
Pleeeeaaaase?

Rusty definitely has some Chow. His tongue only has one black spot on it and it's not that big at all. I knew he was at least part that, but wanted the DNA testing just to see what else he could be. It was such a shock to see the combination! I think he definitely has some character traits of the other dogs to make him so well rounded. He's definitely an attention whore (stop petting him for a second and he'll paw at you to continue). But, he's an awesome mellow dog and is a great "Ambassador Dog," as I like to call him, for small children/elderly.

I think Rusty gets his coloring from the Irish Setter. I have another dog (Chubbs) who my family thinks is Chow mixed with Golden Retriever (she sure looks like it) but her DNA test came back with just Chow. There's no way she's a pure bred. If so, she's a horrible quality chow! haha

The breed I'm obsessed with right now are Shiba Inus. Great dogs with bold personality. I would love to own one later in life, but I've heard quite a few draw backs about them (mostly how you can't trust them off of a leash - they like to run away). But, with proper training, any dog can be well behaved.

Spitz's are awesome. They're cute, but I think I mainly like them because the dog breed is my last name with an "I" instead of an "A".

Anyway, here's my other dog... she's a bit camera shy so the pictures I have of her she's usually distracted. lol

Edit: going to resize pics then repost them.

Well I was expecting you to say "now!", but I guess "please" will do this time... Voted

Sounds like me on a night-out. Well-behaved is not an option

So does Ms. Spatz have any plans for owning a Spitz?

Another cute dog. Is she in the contest to?

I can be more demanding if it'll get RustyDog some more votes!

I can be a bit out of control on a night out drinking or when I'm in Vegas. But who behaves in Vegas?!

I currently don't have any plans on owning a Spitz or a Shiba at this point in time... afterall, I have two wonderful dogs right now and have no idea where I will be in my life when it's time to get a new dog. I think I'll have to reevaluate my likes/needs then. Plus, I'm a fan of adopting shelter dogs. They always seem to have the best personalities (and health - purebreds are often inbred) and you save a life in the process. :)

Chubbs is not in the contest. I think I read somewhere that there's a rule for one dog per household. Besides, with how camera shy she is, there's no way to get a reallllly cute pic of her.

Hmm interesting smiley, but you probably don't wanna lay too much of that on me, unless you can also take it

Exactly. If you wake-up hungover in Vegas and don't remember anything, then it means you had way too much fun

Agree about the shelter dogs. Too many of 'em are good animals that have been just mistreated. Always good to give 'em a second chance. Good to finally talk to someone who sees the good in shelter dogs

I was gonna say get Chubbs drunk first, but then I realized she's not my roomie lol

Well, I guess I'm also like Chubbs and your roomie. Cameras are only my friend if I'm the one BEHIND the lens, not in front.
