Its a mean dangerous world in the eyes of a lot of people these days and strangers are scary. I suspect that might be the source of a lot of the negativity.

I don't see how he could think that but, ok...

Speaking of sightings though, last weekend, labor day weekend, while cruising down the 605 towards the 405, my fiance and I spotted a black lb that had the stock hubcaps painted black and white apple logos on each of the rear windows...isn't that someone from yw.com?

I could have sworn we had a sightings thread before the hack

The modern lifestyle creates a lot of stress. You can see it daily with the rude drivers all around you. I get stressed out myself. This is not in defense of the other driver, but to say that we need to realize that we are all in the same boat. You were being friendly, hoping the other person would share your expression of friendship. He did not, but you became stressed. Do you see my point. The best course of action is to enjoy your own life and let the others live their own life.

Yes I see that in my commute to work ervery day.

Personally, I find driving to be very relaxing and an escape from the daiily stresses.

I actually enjoy driving. At 62years old, I'm stiill as little kid driving a go cart at heart and this is one reason why I prefer/enjoy a manual tranny.

Anyway, I think the guy is just an a-hole as just about everyone likes it when you complment their car.

I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but some Yaris owners only see their cars as....gasp....nothing more than economical transportation! Yes, it may seem odd to us, but there are some in this world who view our beloved machines as a way to get from point A to point B.

Since our cars are not as common as say the Beetle or Civic I am usually quite surprise when anyone actually knows what model it is. Normally, it is a comment along the lines of "nice car" or what kind of car is that?"

As such, the person in question may have been caught off-guard by your remarks. I wouldn't take it personally, nor would I get upset about it; but I can understand as I still get irked pretty bad when I wave to another Jeeper and I get nothing in return...

Cheers! M2

I agree. They probably do not feel the comradery that we do because they do not visit Yaris World, or they are really not into cars; the car is only transportation. It would be like one of us driving a Dodge Caravan and having somebody in another Caravan pull up and say "HI" like they knew us. It probably wouldn't occur to us what was happening.

Not always, the dealership where I bought my Yaris regularly sells cars with aftermarket rims on them...

I will wave to you, and say "sup" back. Even though you are an Okie. :)

if we see a yaris anywhere like at the grocery store we always park next to it. or if we see one out on the road we always get right next to it. i do think some of those people think that we are crazy, especially if we were to wave or anything.lol. there is another couple who live in our apt. complex who have a blue 5dr and i thought of letting them know about yarisworld but am wondering if they may think im nuts.lol.

I was test driving a BMW Z3 yesterday. Saw another Z3 driver waved like a fool (I mean a real nutcase) and she waved right back. Maybe your driving the wrong car!
