Parasitic power loss for auto/manual is different but not as bad as it used to be, 40-60hp on the old fords, chevs etc.
Ive had my fair share of compact automatics, theyre great initially but it isnt long before your tired engine and tired trans make your 85hp look like 40. Not that im saying the manual (as stated previously) makes it a perpetual rocket ship but youll get more out of your small hatch in the long run with the manual. Longevity, full use of the 106hp and parts replacement costs were the top reasons for buying the manual. Way too much experience in 10yr old turds.
