oh yeah... and really.. the heatsinks on amps aren't meant to disappate heat... they are so poorly designed they shouldn't even be called heatsinks... they have a horrible surface area, therefore are poor at transfering the heat to the surrounding air regardless of what position they are in. I wouldn't be too concerned with position. Plus, to get any kind of cooling improvement you'd need to install a low noise fan, like a low output 120mm computer fan (and reduce the voltage to say 9v using a rheostat to help keep noise at a bare minimum).
