Why aren't you doing what Toyota recommends? Someone tried to convince me to change oil filter every 2000 miles and oil when it gets black. This sound about the same as you're doing. Now you're wondering if some thing is wrong. Yes, something is wrong. Go to Toyota and explain what you're doing.
