Went in today after seeing this and they have to order the part, but it will be fixed. I take it no one had to pay for theirs. I haven't, but I did forget to ask about it.

No apparently it was something else. Hopefully a new bracket. I can't speak for other dealerships, but the tech guys at mine are very thorough. It also helps that some of them I went to school with.

Hmm...noticed that I sometimes get a similar rattle in reverse. Not everytime though. I'll have to get up under her tomorrow and check it out. I wonder if I have to use an "OEM Toyota" ziptie?

hey everyone I have a 2007 sedan and experience the same problem when in reverse. I'll try the ziptie method and see what happens.

However, there is another rattle i'm experiencing (surprise surprise). When the fan comes on and runs while idleing in park (or at a light while in drive) the vibration causes the hood to rattle against the part of the car it rests against while closed. I verified this by having my wife put the car in drive while holding the brake. When I put my hand on the hood, the noise stops.

I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that there is not much padding along the edges of the hood. Any ideas to absorb the vibration and stop the rattle? a sticky foam piece of some kind?

aaronwer....try tightening the latch bolts.

Also have the same rattle that most folks are describing....when in reverse at a standstill....will inspect the engine area and see if it IS the same problem...thanks for the heads up yaris world crew!!!!.
