well, 'any old' ziptie may crack, rot, break, not do the job, cut into the housing
a Toyota spec ziptie will just plain work. the difference between walmart zipties and a good one can be huge |

![]() I do have some ties that are designed for use in hot conditions and are UV rated. Might as well use one of those. |

Well I got mine fixed and it doesn't rattle now. I asked the guy what was replaced or what part he needed and apparently there is a bracket that was redesigned to prevent the cable rubbing.

Despite being an '10...mine had this issue sometimes. Went out this morning and did the ol' ziptie.....problem solved.
Now I just hope Toyota doesn't void the warranty for using an aftermarket tie.

I noticed this noise on mine 2010 LB the other day but didn't think too much about it until I found this thread. I just went out and popped my hood and my cable is just resting against the bracket. I will do the old zip tie fix tomorrow at work myself. I can't help but to wonder what it would take to get my local dealership to fix it under warranty since the TSB only covers up to 2009 models.

If you don't mind cold you pop your hood and see what was actually done to fix it? I am just curious to see if they used some form of zip tie or if they actually replaced a part. The bracket is easily visible from under the hood. thanks.
