Ford Fiesta...Very TEMPTING

Loving my 07 white egg but seriously though. Isn't the Fiesta just proper for an automobile? Really considering in trading? Any thoughts?

It's a damn nice car. I've driven both the Euro and U.S. spec versions. Sorry for the shameless plug, but you can read about my impressions here:

Other than the Ford emblem on front...I like it!!! The dealer where I bought my Yaris sells Ford too...will definitely have to check it out for a test drive...

its European ford not the watered down shit theyve been selling for the past 10ys.
in the ford focus communities its a VERY anticipated vehicle since the focus being born on the rally tracks was supposed to be good but in those days the $$$ was more important rather than the actual vehicle. Now that this fiesta is rumored to have very little changed during translation and had its debut in the WRC world that has bumped its image even more.
Fiesta in WRC

I feel the same about Government Motors cars: I have yet to own or drive one that I actually liked.

I'm not sure I will ever go away from Toyota. Again, my experiences with them have always been solid and reliable, both for the vehicle and the dealership service.

Not only would I test-drive a Ford (Fiesta, Mustang, Fusion...) I'd gladly pick a 365hp, twin-turbo Taurus over any Toyota Avalon out there.

Ford must be doing something right...avoided the government bail-out, and I believe is 2nd only to Honda when it comes to customer loyalty.

Other than it being a ford, it has a timing belt-a total deal breaker for me. I never want to own an engine with a lousy, expensive to replace timing belt. Talk about built in mechanic revenue-it's a cost cutter not using a timing chain.

I'll be interested to see if people like this euro transplant-because they never seem to last, i.e., Saturn Astra. They really should have picked a different name-everyone is confusing it with Festiva which from from the late 80's. The original Fiesta was from the late 70's-guess they've run out of "F" names to give their cars.

You guys are living in the past. Most of the new Ford's are among the best built cars in the industry. I still swear by Toyota, but Ford has my second vote. I'd even buy one over a Honda now.

ya, i'm probably gonna support korea or china the rest of my life...i'm now looking into a subaru legacy spec-B. it's a STi with a little extra room...so insurance will be cheaper since it's considered a sedan vs a sub-compact or compact car. plus, AWD platform, turbo, and 6-spd manual always works for me.

that is an awesome car. If gas stayed reasonable I prolly would've ended up in a Suby.

I like ford, i owned a taurus SHO in the mid 90's, and it was pretty sweet. Their european cars just handle amazingly. The Ford Contour handled like it was on rails.

I am glad it's coming to this market but I am not excited by it. For one thing it doesn't look as good. The front is too tall. Does it hide a cummins engine there? Why does it need so much height? Look at the prelude for comparison:

They have also attempted to copy the Fit, this is admitted in the July Car and Driver Magazine.

Furthermore, I never liked the ford engines (worked on them a lot when I was a mechanic) and they were just built more poorly than the japanese engines. This is my opinion only of course.
