I DON'T want mine to stay in a lower gear any longer than necessary! That wastes fuel. It'll downshift if I want to poke the pedal harder. I back off on the pedal to encourage earlier upshifts.

The OD kicks in at 45 MPH, which is early especially when going uphill. I simply shut it off or downshift by tapping the gas pedal when necessary. It is why all autos allow you to do so! Cheers! M2
