From what I can gather, women and old souls go for the sedan. The liftback is reserved for the younger crowd and anyone that cares about being unique over having a trunk.
There are, of course, many exceptions. I'm just basing this on my experiences. When old people ask me about the car at gas stations (and it happens often) they often tell me they're looking at the sedan. |

Women seem to be prety drawn to the cute-factor of the LB. I have no idea who's buying the sedan. But then, I have no idea who's buying the Corolla either and I see tons of those on the road. I would assume that the same people who are drawn to the Corolla are drawn the the Yaris sedan. It's not that much smaller than the Corolla and it can be had cheaper with better appointments.
