This is true...I have scratched a few gears in my Yaris and I've been driving sticks for 20+ years. Embarrassing as hell when it happens!

As for the OP.....I just don't see there being much "gunk" built up in only 34K miles so IMHO you would be wasting your money. Now if you grind the gears on every shift every time you drive then yes....you probably have all sorts of crap in the tranny case (metal shavings, etc.) and a flush might be warranted.

Do what you need to do, but any flushing of the engine or trans at such a low mileage is atypical.
