Oh, man.
I HAD to respond to this after the last road trip we took.
Here's what was in the Yaris:

-3 people, one of which sat on the 40 half of the 60/40 split (60 half was down)
-one double bass (as in the kind jazzers have to stand to play)
-one small amp for said bass (I think it had a 10" speaker)
-one electric guitar
-one small amp for said guitar (a 1X12" combo, so not THAT small)
-one suitcase with pedals for said guitar (approx 22"X16"X6")
-two air mattresses
-three backpacks (with clothes, toothbrushes, etc.)
-three laptop bags
-one LCD projector
-two blankets
-three pillows

I think that's it.
Man it was TIGHT in there. We had to remove the spare tire in order to fit one of the air mattresses in its place. But that being said, everyone was relatively comfortable (as comfortable as you can be without being able to recline your seat for a nap).

I stuffed an AE86 rear JDM bumper into my 3 door hatch once.

The force is strong with you.

I witnessed a middle aged woman argue with Best Buy employees for about 45 minutes because they told her that her new washing machine wouldn't fit in her Prius. She was LIVID. Her best supporting statement was "But I have a Prius!"

for having your priorities in proper perspective! Instruments come first, then comes clothing, blankets, computers, food, whatever else can fit!
