Hit and run, need to replace door, help!
Hi guys,
So my car was involved in a hit and run, no one witnessed, and my insurance won't cover it since I only have third party insurance. My whole front door is smashed in and only opens from the inside. I am having so much trouble finding a 2009 sedan yaris door (4 door), but found a 2007 yaris sedan door for $400! Does anyone know if it will fit? One of the mechanics I took it to said it definitely won't fit. Sigh. Anyways, your help would be appreciated! I've only had my car for 7 months :( |

My door was recently hit very similarly and i would inquire if you only need the door skin to be replaced and not the whole door itself. Cuz mine won't open on the outside either and they are replacing the skin. That would save a lot of money right there. What did the estimate say? Or have you gotten one yet?

The part number for the door assembly is the same for 2007 and 2009, so it definitely should fit.

Hmm, I never thought about only replacing the skin. I did get an estimate done by one guy, he said 1600 bucks for a new door, paint, and labour. Where did you take your car? I realize you are in the states lol, but I wonder if you went to the dealership or somewhere else. I've been told to stay away from dealerships. I'm such a car newb.
If the 2007 is the same as the 2009, then I may go buy it and maybe give it to the mechanic to paint and put it together. Thanks CTScott! |
