He said that he doesn't have the issue, so we compared his hatch to mine. His pops up into the fully open position, where mine slowly moves to about 3/4 of the way up. I realized that mine used to move the way that his does, so just replacing them with the standard would probably be fine, but I will still try the 101's once they arrive.
