You need to remove these two bolts. The easiest way to reach them is to remove your air intake and your battery. You won't be able to see them, you'll have to find them with your fingers.

There is no tool known to man that can reach that. I took out my intake and battery and there is just no way. My car is sitting in my garage now with no battery no linkage and no intake because I needed to post this. Did you cut the bracket that holds those wires that are connected to the bracket that holds the shift cables??? Also how do you get the cables out of the bracket???

If I recall correctly it was a standard 14MM(could be smaller) socket, it should take all of about 5 minutes to get those two bolts off. The bolt heads are going to be facing away from you, you just reach across the engine and using your fingers find the bolt head then slip the socket over and loosen them, you may need a small length of pipe over the wrench handle for added leverage if the bolts are extremely tight. If it's the cables that are blocking you, remove them from the bracket first(see below).

It should be very easy at that point...

No, I didn't have to cut anything.

Also how do you get the cables out of the bracket???

This was the hardest part for me, but it still wasn't a big deal. Apply pressure from the bottom(with a flat head screwdriver or something) and slide those two retaining plates up and off of the bracket. The cables will slide up and out afterwards. I ran my retainers across my buffing wheel a few times, that's why they are all shiny. I figured it would help illustrate the process.

I'm sorry this is giving you so much trouble...

You can reach them using a socket wrench. Pull out the airbox and the battery tray (and by tray I mean the whole thing bracket and all - you'll need to remove all the plastic clips holding wiring harnesses to it.) The wiring harness bracket mounted to the cable bracket needs to be unbolted.

I think the bolt for the wiring harness bracket is 12mm and the bolts holding the cable bracket are 14mm.

Got mine installed yesterday and the worst part was getting all the plastic clips unmounted from the battery tray bracket. The clips holding the shift cables in the bracket can be a little annoying, but I used a big honkin' flat head screwdriver to pop those out. (Sorry - no pics)

Not a difficult install at all and worth for the improvement in shifting.
