FuuFuu 2011 Hatchback Build Thread
Most recent comments in RED
I am a new guy from Gatlinburg TN. I just bought an 11 Yaris in white, a 2 door hatch with now about 200 miles. Its replacing my 03 Ranger as a daily driver since I have almost 170K on my baby. This will let me tear her apart and redo everything so that she can be a proper show truck. I dont have many plans on modifying the Yaris, as once its paid off and I get out of school I plan on trading it in, probably for a newer one if I continue to like this one. I want to try a few things on this one for future reference though. Im mostly wanting to get the most mpg out of my yaris as possible, but I cant find the exact parts I need. Ive seen some salt flat hubs, but Im getting mixed answers on whether they fit the stock wheels or not. Im also wanting to fashion wheel skirts in the rear, and a lower grill block up front. Anyone made any here yet and have some advice? Other than that itll stay stock minus a logo I want to paint on the salt rims and maybe a black stripe or something so I can pick it out from a crowd, as I never had that problem in my truck ;3 Got a spare set of underglow to slap on it for the heck of it too, might as well put it to use. Swapped huge White neons tubes for purple slimline led tubes from Ranger. Currenty:Trying to remove rear seats and build custom back floorboard. Waiting on Scangauge II for Christmas :D Looking at interior ideas that are fully removeable (IE modifying seat covers and a custom floorboard when back seat is removed. -shrugs- MY truck has it as well, matches my purple gauges. Its probably considered rice, bu tI like the added visability with them, I have a big enough fear of the big arsed trucks around here running me over as it is, anything that screams HERE I AM is great :p BEsides we all know it adds 25 horsepower and automagically converts it to a RWD :p Im not talking about body kits, but the skirts similar to what you find on old american cars, such as some lincolns and stuff that extended the line of the bottom of the car over the rear tires, filling the gap and covering up about 1/2 of the rear tire. |

Ive been rolling over the idea of stripes on the Yaris, heres what Ive come up with. This is a crappy paint version, but the concept is all I need. I was wondering if maybe it would look better with the stripes off to one side insidea of the traditional two racing stripes in the center? The FuuFuu Logo is going to be in reverse on the stripes.

the salt flat hub caps are called moon discs. they usually run about $100/set but you really don't gain much from that. I would say to go with a lower grill block first. I have heard that you have to be careful with an auto trans as the trans cooler is somewhere in there (manual guy myself). on my cavalier, I used plexiglass that was removable at first, then molded it in, then fiberglassed it over. that process took about 2 years. wanted to make sure it wouldn't overheat.
if you are really big on the MPG side, I would say to either get a scangauge or ultragauge. either will do what you want (MPG meter) they will show you all sorts of things and work on anything 1996 and newer so you can take it with you if and when you trade it in. good luck on the mileage venture. I am seeing around 41 right now. was hoping for better but I can't complain. |

![]() It'd be really interesting to see a Yaris with some wheel skirts. Would definitely be one-of-a-kind. Also, mad props for that Ranger looking so good with 170k on it. Impressive!

To the OP i really think you should stay clear of the Fleetwood style rears! I know there are a few guys on here getting crazy gas mileage with some Moons and a few other mods that help with gas mileage and your still keeping the Yaris fresh looking
