i mean if it's really gas savings you're after wouldn't removing the belt from the compressor be the best way to go? less drag on the motor.

Of course you realize, captain slow, that the car has a single serpentine belt from crank, to alternator, to a/c compressor, don't you?

I have become a 7.5 amp fuse puller and and much happier for it.

Laast night i didnt plug the block heater in and this morning i will see how far the car goes before the cool engine light goes out.

And now there will be no AC to spoil things...

Hmm I wonder could they market a Yaris option optimized for fuel eficiency?
