Sorry to bump this thread but I wanted to report on my car ...
I noticed some surface rust under the rocker panels (my car doesn't have the plastic piece to protect it) and also in the "lip" infront of the rear tires. It looks like just surface for now so I'm going to use solvent/sand/prime and use that truck bed liner stuff that CTScott used to coat the wheel wells to prevent that from happening. It makes me cry a little inside to see that disease on a car that runs great.
