I am also going to run stretched tires... but not as much as 1.5.
I'm going for 185/45 on 7J rims. It is not much stretch, but I don't want that, because of the things 1.5 just mentioned. Also... I don't want to change tires every few months :)

185mm is ~ 7.3" so that is not a stretch at all. Your wheel is narrower than your tire.
