Thanks CTScott, that helps a lot!

So I am thinking I got the wrong key fob for my Yaris since I cant get it to program at all. Does anyone know what the correct part number would be for a FOB with electronics for a 2007 Sedan?

89070-52860 or 89070-52730

well poop. I bought a 89070-52730 and it wont program. Any suggestions on why the Yaris wont program it? I followed the instructions exactly, tried it like 10 times.

The description says it must be programmed by a Toyota dealer but I am assuming they would just be performing the procedure listed above?

If none of your remotes work, then the problem may be the receiver, rather than the keys' transmitters.

My original remote works fine, I swapped the electronics into a new shell, the original shell started coming apart. I was hoping to finally after all these years get a second fob so both my wife and I have one just wont seem to take.

The EPC shows the 89070-52730 part as replacing the 89070-52860 one. Perhaps they really are not compatible. If you want, PM me your VIN, and I can tell you what part number came with your car.

Also, inside of the transmitter there should be a label on the electronics. Compare your old and new ones.

For example, the key that I have on hand (that came with a steering column that I bought off ebay for a project), says:

Tokai Rika
MDL B44TA
ETC094LPD0451
05015/POSTEL/2007
2344

Original Electronics says:

MDL B41TG
FCC ID:MOZB41TG
IC:2584A-B41TG
TOKAI RIKA CO. LTD
RVLTDB405-326

My eyes aren't great so I may have gotten my 0 and D's mixed up.
