Got an oil/filter change recently at 240,010 miles...about 14,000 since last change. I could have gone longer, but figured this close to a milestone would make it easy to remember without looking at my records. Later that day I got my free tire rotation at Firestone....about 15,000 miles on the tires....again an easy to remember milestone. Firestone does a free balancing with each rotation, which I did not know before. I just happened to see the tech roll one of the tires away from my car, mount it on the machine, and close the lid.

P.S. This = my 15th oil change since purchased new

^^^^^ P.S. Added on 5-22-13

P.P.S. ----- Just noticed today (2-28-14) that this was my 16th oil change, not 15th

This is just awesome... Really, really inspiring to hear you got your oil changed at 240,010, just awesome! I've had my 2013 for about 7 weeks and just turned over 1,000 miles...I'll be lucky to put on 7,500 miles on it in a year. With this kind of mileage (240,010) I'll never think twice about putting extra miles on my car - you should be proud!

OH, I just figured it out, you averaged an oil change every 16,000 miles - I can't wait to change the oil on this car, but it will be awhile. Every time I talk about how easy it will be to change the oil on 'Scruffy', I get the ball & chain saying, 'Don't forget you have 2 years of free oil changes' - Yeah whatever!

Thanks. My inspiration among Yaris owners who purchased new is Yarisworld member trini_per4mance. As of March 27th, 2013 he had 492,000 miles on his Yaris. Before doing his brakes for the first time at 400,000 miles, the only repairs he did were replacing the alternator at 323,000 miles and replacing the shocks and struts at a bit over 150,000 miles (and he probably didn't HAVE to replace the shocks and struts). You can do a user name search for trini_per4ormance and when the results display, go down to the 5th thread listed (Finally, 450,000 miles....etc) and click on page 1 and look at post #1. whenever trini completes a new repair, he updates that post with a text edit to include the new information. If I can get to 400,000 or close to it without any more repairs (just the alternator and wheel bearings so far)....just oil/filter changes and a battery and another set of tires I'll probably trade it in at that time (or donate it to charity)

Among Yarisworld members who are original owners, there are at least 4 between trini and me. When Contraband831 posted that he was at 246,000 I was at 244,400. Another original owner/member is at 265,000+ miles and two more are at 350,000+ miles. Tops among our non original owners (and he's enhanced his Yaris quite a bit) is Mazilla at over 530,000 miles. Mazilla bought a courier company that included 20 Yari....and each Yaris (among the 20) was at some point in the range between 350,000 and 500,000 miles!

'Speak of the devil' (so to speak), trini_per4mance (just tonight) created a new thread because he just hit 500,000 miles (owned since new) on May 26th, 2013 !
