drl

just turn the little knob U self. You really don't want those on all the time because they end up ruining the headlight outer lens , they turn light brown and foggy looking, then in a few years you have to replace the whole headlight. Most parts place dont' sell you just the outer lens because they make more money that way..LOL of course.

I always thought the misting up of the plastic headlight lens was due to age,road rash and ultraviolet damage from the sun.You are saying its because of the headlight being on all the time?

No. The headlights being on has nothing to do with it. The plastic just ages and oxidizes, causing it to turn cloudy and yellow.

Is it permitted to have a parking light + front fog lamp instead of Drl?

I don't know if DRL is required in your country, but you might want to check with local authorities see what lights can be on at any time.

I know some countries prohibits fog lights when there is no fog.

In my country, DRL is what was designed by the manufacturer, and shall not be modified.

I Think it is Here in EU,
Many newer VW use Fog lights as DRL.
