Actually that's right! All cars and trucks, hybrids or otherwise, lightweight like a Yaris or heavy like a tractor trailer, contribute to the wear of roads. Therefore Electric cars (not hybrids) should pay for some part of that wear and tear that us gas users pay via gas tax.

Nobody is tying the arm of any gasoline powered car owner in PA's back and keeping them from buying an electric car (I know, it doesn't solve the overall issue). Perhaps if more people did that and revenue continued to decline, people might look more carefully at cutting expenses...granted that might be easier if your state were structured differently.
