Actually just the opposite - Always disconnect the negative terminal first and connect the negative last. The reason for this is that the chassis is grounded, so if while wrenching the positive terminal you touch anything metal you will short the positive to ground and make a heck of a spark or do worse that that. When jumping a car you do just the opposite - Connect positive first and disconnect it last.
