With all respect I think he actually has the 12+ to the 30 wire. His diagram is a bit confusing and I looked at it a couple of times but the terminal numbers are all to the right of the cables. 85 appears to go to earth.

Correct - That's what I was thinking after looking at it a couple of times. He also mentioned the relay clicking, so the coil side of the wiring is fine.
