I personally don't feel comfortable leaving my car on weenie little jack stands for that long. I'd find some large pieces of wood or cinder block, pad them, and then lower the car onto them. They're much more stable than just jack stands.

Yeah that's what I was thinking - cinder blocks or like deck piers seem like a much more stable option. What would be the best placements for them under the car? I'll consult my manual when I get out to the car... just curious if there are any spots anyone would recommend?

Jack stands are made for that purpose if positioned in the proper resting points on the car. Also they need to have proper weight rating and let's face it, the car weighs 2400lbs and one jack stand the smallest usually hold 1 ton each. I have three snow cats up on jack stands at work, they weigh in stripped down summer mode at 4.5-5 tons. Their all on jack stands till October.
