Youtube has some interesting bypass ideas, this one is rather ingenious and costs nothing.

While i was getting the key made i mentioned this little trick to bypass the dealers high price . he said theres an even easier way, why not just tape your valet key to the underside of the steering column,then you can start the car with any $2 replacement key.

Its the key without all the buttons on it.. I thought it was called a valet key but i could be wrong... It looks the same as the one in the video where he digs out the chip.
heres the 2 keys i got that actually start the car-=

I tried the locksmiths suggestion and it didnt work as there was no place that i could put the factory key that would make a regular $2 key start the car.

It would have to be in very close proximity to the coil that surrounds the ignition switch. As mentioned above, removing the lower steering column and then taping the key to the side of the ignition switch assembly would work best.

Sounds like maybe an aftermarket device to defeat the system?
