so I will wait on the suspension, the local shop wants $330 for strut install and $150 for shocks

Yeah, plus an alignment as well.

KYB work well for import stuff. They last well and the valving is very close to OE. It's more domestics that you cannot get good shocks for, but still plays into imports as well.
