Stay tuned!
On the good side it takes LONGER for someone to pump your gas so that will be a consolation. Also, I shudder to think of the jobs LOST and the hardship that will cause to our already FUBAR economy if this comes to pass!

Sorry, but......

. I wouldn't want to live in your state, but I do like to visit (and stay there re trips...especially trips by CAR.....to the NYC metro area). I absolutely hate having someone else pump my gas (can't fill to my usual 'where I can start to see gas in the neck' point

). I'll either try to pick the farthest away from the 'hut' pump at a sparsely manned station at night, or (if convenient) I'll just get gas in NY state and pay more.
My understanding (from someone who works for Hess) is that the lower (than surrounding states) gas prices in New Jersey exist because of lower taxes...nothing to do with who is pumping the gas. The same person told me that NJ makes up for lower taxes on fuel with higher 'sin taxes' than surrounding states (on alcohol and cigarettes, IIRC). Your state, and Oregon, are the only U.S. states with this 'we must keep the pump jockeys employed in their customary positions' way of thinking
